Leaving the City of Angels
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008So, several weeks of packing, a mountain of boxes and only two herniated discs later, Los Angeles is once again mourning the loss of its native son… Yes, Elvis has left the building.
Thanks to Demeideros Moving LTD for the packing and moving help - that is one less herniated disc for me, and unfortunately one more for Lenny. And of course, my good friend Mr. Boyd helped out on the San Jose side of box moving, too, and his traction is meant to last only two or three weeks more….
The drive to San Jose was uneventful except for a couple of small downpours and the, oh, 120 mile per hour cyclonic winds. (oops, gotta get used to metrics - make that 200 KM per hour winds). But, that wasn’t too bothersome since I was hauling a 30+ foot (DANG 10+ Meter), load with a trailer and a Prius. Got to play pinball with passing cars - wheee!
But, we made it. Stuff is in storage. Ready to go. Tick tock, tick tock.
Will miss you LA and all the friends there (special shout out to Jason & Stacy, Chris & Eva, Stuan, LaBounty (the both of you), and the Makena family! And of course, mother Pacific, I will miss you, too.
